The Sherrod Time Line

As pointed out on Glenn Becks show Thursday (Link)

  1. 24 years ago, Shirley Sherrod working in Georgia eventually helps a "white" farmer get out of trouble when a bank was going to foreclose on it.
  2. March 2010, she retells the story at a NAACP meeting in a 43 min speech and admits that at first she did not give her full effort because the farmer was white, but did refer him to a white lawyer who she knew had taken training for this kind of situation. After it was "revealed" that it was about rich vs. poor and not black vs white, she swoops in and saves the day.
  3. Andrew Breibart receives the video (source not known) in April.
  4. In July, the NAACP passes a condemnation of the "Tea Party" and its affiliation with racists groups.
  5. Breitbart posts the video on Mon. July 19 at 8:18 am (original post)
  6. Sherrod is asked to resign by 5 pm as it will be on "Glenn Beck" that night.
  7. Bill O'Reilly played the clip on his 8 pm show. 8:49 pm was the first time Fox News had the tape on air.
  8. Glenn Beck did talk about it on July 20th after the White House and the NAACP blamed Fox News for the firing when only the W.H. could fire her. Glenn Beck actually liked her comments on redemption from a racist view toward white people.

The tape was not edited. It was 43 min and the clip was around 2.5 min. So yes it was shortened for viewing but by the end of day one the full transcript was on-line.

What was the point? They fracked up in fear of loosing more white voters and then blamed Fox News when they had nothing to do with it. Breitbart did post it, so he can be blamed for showing a video, but only they (the Ag. Sec. Vilsack) over reacted and I am sure he was getting pounded by the W.H. to fire her.
