I play a doctor on TV.

So, I typed in “War Reenactments” on Google and came up with WWI, WWII, Civil War, Revolutionary War and War of 1812. Now I assume that these reenactments have both sides of the battles, so someone has to play the part of the British (loosing once and winning once) and of course the reenactments of Gettysburg must have someone playing the part of the south.

Battle reenactments are a part of every culture and have been going on forever. I have seen dozens of documentaries on Native American Tribes and African Tribes performing dances that tell the story of some triumph of their ancestors over an enemy or animal.

In the west we tend to reenact things down to the smallest detail. I will admit that people who like being involved with these projects are much like the people I have seen at conventions for Star Trek or Star Wars, just a bit different.

Rich Iott has posted other photos of his re-enactments of other wars. (Link) In those other battles he was dressed as a US soldier in WWII and WWI & a union soldier in the Civil war.

He is acting! Here are other people who have acted like Nazi’s only difference they got paid.

The Great Dictator -Charlie Chaplin (Hitler like leader) (1940)

Hitler: The last Ten Days – Alec Guinness (Hitler) (1973)

Schindler’s List - Ralph Fiennes (Commandant of camp) (1993)

Valkyrie – Tom Cruise (Colonel) (2008)

Enemy at the Gates - Ed Harris (Colonel) (2001)

Inglourious Basterds – Christoph Waltz (Jew Hunter) (2009)

I don’t think they ever got blasted for their work, maybe criticized, but not slandered calling them Nazi’s.
